TDIH - Tasty 77 show |
October 2, 1977 Paramount Theatre Portland, Oregon
Great show here and it's a nice board. First Casey Jones since 74 kicks off the first set, by far the longest version they've ever done. Dupree's is another revival later in the set. Huge Let It Grow>Deal ends the set. Second set is fantastic, real magic happens in the Fire On the Mountain as Garcia whips up some of his best mutron licks...the Playin' jam is a deep drift, with very interesting percussion...post drums is big energy...nice truckin>other one>wharf rat...Sugar Mag is done in typical rock style

Check out Jerry's solo in Sunrise. It's awesome.

Re: TDIH - Tasty 77 show |
Casey Jones from this show is spectacular for many reasons, not the least of which is the 4 year hiatus & return...
It also seems as if Jerry forgets the lyric to the "trouble with you" line, and so that's why they lay out with some extra jamming, in which Keith really steps to the fore...
This whole show is wonderful.
